Warp9 Makes Major Announcement on New Client Signing & Expanded Mobile Commerce Market Penetration
This morning WNYN has come out with a solid piece of news and signed a major distributor of high-end equipment. Since 2006 Tactical Distributors has distributed products from brands like Under Armour, Surefire, Pelican, EOTech, and G-Shock.These are multi-million and billion dollar companies and Tactical is a major distributor that just so happens to also use one of the top 3 e-commerce solutions through Magento…but does not have a way to access customers through mobile devices…yet
Since July, Warp9’s mission has been to secure as many of Magento’s 240,000 businesses who do not have a mobile offering. And if you think mobile is “just an added bonus”, think again. A recent Google study in partnership with Nielsen revealed that smartphone users spend as much as 15+ hours a week researching products on their phones. More importantly, in 2013, US M-Commerce sales grew by an eye popping 63% to $34.2Billion. Meanwhile growth in mobile commerce shows a rise in purchases to $61B for tablet users and $25B attributed to smartphone and other mobile devices by 2016.
Andrew Van Noy, CEO of Warp 9 said, “WarpMobile Magento will give these customers access to Tactical’s product lines with a click of a button from their smartphones. By developing an affordable and scalable platform that can be customized by Tactical Distributor’s management, the brand will be in a better position to capture additional market share, and improve overall revenue.”
Warp9 has been flying under the radar for months now and I think that this announcement could be just the catalyst to see some fireworks. The company has quietly begun to build a marketshare in a fairly un-tapped industry that analysts have identified as a huge growth niche over the next 4 years. Best part of this is that we are seeing it first!
